為紀(jì)念已故的阿萊克凱恩克勞斯爵士（Sir Alec Cairncross），牛津大學(xué)現(xiàn)代中國研究中心“經(jīng)濟(jì)培訓(xùn)項(xiàng)目”師生于2007年聯(lián)合發(fā)起創(chuàng)建北京凱恩克勞斯經(jīng)濟(jì)研究基金會(huì)，感謝凱恩克勞斯爵士20世紀(jì)80年代到90年代在為中國宏觀經(jīng)濟(jì)政策提供建議、培訓(xùn)中國青年經(jīng)濟(jì)工作者以及推動(dòng)英國的當(dāng)代中國問題研究方面所做出的積極貢獻(xiàn)。基金會(huì)于2007年11月5日在北京市民政局登記注冊，根據(jù)國務(wù)院《基金會(huì)管理?xiàng)l例》等相關(guān)中國法律法規(guī)開展工作，是4A級(jí)社會(huì)組織，2017年被評(píng)為“全國社科聯(lián)創(chuàng)建新型智庫先進(jìn)社會(huì)組織”。

The Cairncross Economic Research Foundation was established in 2007 in tribute to the late Sir Alec Cairncross (1911-1998) who made important contributions to Chinese economic policymaking, training of Chinese economists and the development of contemporary Chinese Studies in the United Kingdom. The Cairncross Economic Research Foundation is registered at the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau in November 2007.
